Acting on behalf of NHS Property Services, Glenny LLP's Residential Development Division has successfully completed the disposal of an undeveloped brownfield site on Tallack Road in Leyton, East London to Galliard Homes. Glenny provided expert advice on the best marketing and disposal strategy to maximise the potential land value of the site, which measures 0.56 acres and had been declared surplus to requirements by healthcare commissioners. A full open marketing campaign was carried out, including local and national advertising, and offers were requested on a subject to planning basis. The residential development team assisted NHS Property Services throughout the disposal process, attending pre-application meetings with the planning department at the London Borough of Waltham Forest and agreeing contractual amendments with the appointed solicitors. Gavin Donn, Senior Development Surveyor at Glenny, said: "We have extensive experience working with local authorities, public bodies and private land owners. This experience, in addition to our expert local knowledge, enabled us to offer advice that was tailored to our client's specific needs and requirements." Galliards Homes purchased the site and planning has been granted on a major application for a 50-unit residential scheme.
